San Diego Kitchen Remodel - North County

For this kitchen remodel, our clients expressed their desire to add more color and expand the existing kitchen pass-through, granting them more natural light, better view of the fireplace and enhanced access between kitchen and their family room.

We removed the original plain white cabinetry and created a warmer kitchen with a golden nutmeg alder wood in custom cabinetry. Generous however modern, cabinetry hardware was selected for its sizable length and smooth grip. Antique bubbled glass was inset into the cabinets above their wine refrigeration unit to add dimension and visual texture. The cabinetry included beautiful yet uncomplicated detailing which blended flawlessly with the homes existing features.

The custom cabinetry has exceptional craftsmanship. It includes dovetail corner construction on all of the cabinets, blumotion drawer hardware, blum 6-way adjustable hinges, drawers with full extension under-mounted guides and self closing hardware, and every base cabinet had drawers and slide out trays that have blumotion self closing hardware.

Specific challenges for the design and build of this kitchen remodel included removing a load bearing wall leading from kitchen to family room. During the process, a temporary wall was constructed to support the roof. The wall that was removed held sheer value so the walls on either side had to be reinforced to provide lateral stability. The result is a spacious new kitchen open to the adjacent family room, that’s both functional and stylish.
